Water: The Essential Element
A WOW! e-Brief
Work of Women program @ World Neighbors
January 2007
Introduction
Water is essential to life on earth, but it is also so much more than that. Our relationship with water is more than just survival. A diverse culture has sprung up around water and its significance, suggesting many social, cultural, political and economic understandings. Our examination of water in this e-newsletter takes a brief look at water and women in the developing world, focusing mainly on selected aspects of water scarcity and quality.
January 2007 marks the initiation of the new, monthly WOW! e-brief. What you see for this month’s communication is similar to what we envision for future months – and we encourage you to let us know what you think by emailing or telephoning 405-752-9700, ext. 0484. We welcome your feedback on what you liked, what you didn’t and suggestions to make our communication with you even better. Please read on!
