Work of Woman

The work that women do is at the very heart of our global community – women care for families, impart wisdom, teach ethical values, provide financial support, produce most of the world’s food and work two-thirds of the world’s working hours. Yet women earn just one-tenth of the world’s income and own less than one-tenth of the world’s property. Women suffer disproportionately from violence, and are marginalized from leadership and decision making. The Work of Women (WOW!) program at World Neighbors is dedicated to making positive changes in women’s lives.

WOW! is a membership organization within World Neighbors that empowers and mobilizes women around the world. These women dream the same dreams and have the same hopes as us for ourselves and our families. They want healthy children, healthy minds and to have a voice in their homes and communities.

Through involvement with WOW!, you can help these women reach their dreams. You facilitate the creation of women's savings and credit groups that start micro-businesses. You invest in women's leadership and skill building for equity in community decision making. You support women to better feed their families by teaching her how to grow healthier foods.  You can change a life, a family, a community!
